Woman dead after vehicle plunges into Ashbridges Bay in Toronto

A woman has lost her life following an incident in which a vehicle entered Lake Ontario in the eastern part of Toronto. Emergency services responded to Ashbridges Bay Park Road shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Sunday. Firefighters managed to rescue both a man and a woman, with one being retrieved from inside the vehicle and the other from the roof.

Unfortunately, the woman was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Additionally, four police officers were hospitalized due to “exposure to the elements,” according to a police spokesperson. The circumstances surrounding how the vehicle came to be in the water remain unclear, but authorities have confirmed that it has been removed.
